Mitsubishi Inaugurates Special Vehicle Projects With L200 Barbarian SVP

http://www.carscoops.com/2017/04/mitsub ... hicle.html

Special vehicle programs is something most of us usually associate with exotic and luxury brands like Ferrari, McLaren and Jaguar, but Mitsubishi has one too now. Well, sort of.

The Japanese carmaker has announced plans to introduce a new Special Vehicle Projects or SVP program at the Commercial Vehicle Show later this week.

Designed to offer British customers exclusive and highly distinctive vehicles, the SVP program will see the company build an assortment of limited edition models with "significant appearance changes."

The first model is the L200 Barbarian SVP which draws inspiration from the one-off L200 Desert Warrior Pre-runner. It is based on the L200 Barbarian Double Cab and features an Electric Blue or Cosmos Black exterior with a revised grille, tinted lighting units, and 17-inch black alloy wheels with BF Goodrich all-terrain tires. The truck has also been equipped with extended wheel arches, a black rear bumper, a soft-opening tailgate, and bed lights.

Drivers will find an upscale interior featuring leather seats with faux suede inserts, embroidered headrests, and illuminated door sill plates. Other highlights include GPS navigation, a rearview camera, and a keyless entry system.

Power is provided by a 2.4-liter turbodiesel engine that produces 180 PS (177 hp) and 430 Nm (317 lb-ft) of torque. It can be connected to either a six-speed manual transmission or a five-speed automatic with steering wheel mounted paddle shifters. Regardless of which gearbox is selected, both are backed up by a standard four-wheel drive system.

Production will be limited to 250 units and pricing starts at £28,479. This makes the truck somewhat of a bargain as the Volkswagen Amarok costs £1,641 more.

Eu exercitiu de design in primul rand .
Sunt in Asia, in europa actualele
Motorul e fara probleme si in teren nu am observat nevoia de putere in plus .

New Mitsubishi L200 Barbarian SVP II Is Like Putting Orange Lipstick On Conan

https://www.carscoops.com/2018/03/new-m ... -lipstick/

Mitsubishi has revealed a new special edition of the L200 in Britain, called the Barbarian SVP II, which is the second model to be produced by their Special Vehicles Projects division.

Building on the success of the original SVP version, the new L200 Barbarian SVP II features a vivid two-tone color scheme, as well as a model-specific appearance inside and out.

Mitsubishi UK will offer just 250 examples of the SVP II, with half of them finished in pearlescent Diamond Black and the other half in metallic Atlantic Grey. Both of them feature orange detailing for a “striking contrast”, letting the crowds know that your L200 is more exclusive than the others.

The exterior is also complimented by features such as the 17-inch bespoke black-orange alloy wheels wrapped in all-terrain tires, aggressive wheel arch extensions, as well as a new SVP grille and roof rails.

Things like the fog lamp rings, front and rear light bezels, door handle recess covers, puddle lamps and the tailgate handle surround are all finished in orange. Load bed illumination and a spring-assisted tailgate with a soft-opening damper are also included in the long list of standard features.

The special color scheme continues inside, including ‘six-pack’ leather seats with orange suede-like inserts and matching stitching and piping, a plaque with an individual limited edition number and various ‘SVP’ logos around the cabin.

Power comes from Mitsubishi’s 177hp 2.4-liter turbodiesel engine linked to the Super Select 4WD system. Customers will be offered a six-speed manual or a five-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters on the steering.

The new Mitsubishi L200 Barbarian SVP II is available to order now in the UK, with prices starting from £29,830 ($41,880 in current exchange rates) excluding VAT.
