Ghosn confirmă că ar putea renunța la postul de CEO al Renault: "Vom separa responsabilitățile între branduri"

http://www.automarket.ro/stiri/ghosn-co ... 82229.html

Look Ma, No Mirrors: Mirrorless Mitsubishis Coming To Japan In 2019

http://www.carscoops.com/2018/01/look-m ... rless.html

Mitsubishi is in the middle of a major overhaul, which includes adding distinctively-styled, tech-friendly crossovers to its lineup.

Last year, the automaker also revealed plans to unveil six all-new cars by 2020. Those are some ambitious goals, but Mitsubishi's also got some tech to go with those vehicles, including cameras that can replace traditional exterior mirrors.

The Japanese automaker recently announced it has developed the highest performing automotive camera technology in the automotive industry. Mitsubishi claims its cameras can detect an object that's roughly 100 meters (328 feet) away. The tech, which is based on the brand's artificial intelligence, is expected to reduce the amount of accidents on the road, especially ones that occur during lane changes.

While replacing your car's mirrors with cameras sounds like it would be terrifying, the system has a computational visual-cognition model that allows it to mimic human visual behavior to focus on specific areas within the field of view. The system can also differentiate between cars, motorcycles, and pedestrians.

Compared to some of the cameras found on vehicles at the moment, Mitsubishi's tech extends the maximum distance of object detection from 30 to 100 meters. The accuracy of object detection is also improved from 14 to 81 percent. The automaker plans to place its tech onto vehicles in Japan by 2019. The brand, though, has had some practice with the CA-MiEV concept that came out in 2013.

The move to eliminate wing mirrors off of vehicles was spurred on by a decision that Japan made back in 2016. The country became one of the first to allow the use of cameras instead of mirrors. Mitsubishi isn't the only automaker to look into mirrorless vehicles, as BMW unveiled the i8 Mirrorless Concept at CES 2016. Two years ago, the automaker claimed it would try to have mirrorless tech on its vehicles by 2019.

Mitsubishi Motors to invest $250 million in second factory in Vietnam

http://www.vir.com.vn/mitsubishi-motors ... etnam.html

Mitsubishi Motors will invest $250 million to build its second automobile assembly facility in the country to expand production. The facility is expected to come into operation in 2020.

This was announced by Kozo Shiraji, Mitsubishi Motors' executive vice president, at a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue on January 15.

According to Shiraji, Vietnam is considered an important production hub as well as a potential consumption market for Mitsubishi Motors due to the young and increasingly skilled human resources.

The second assembly facility has a designed capacity of 30,000-50,000 vehicles per year. The group plans to build the facility in an industrial park or economic zone which is near large-scale seaports having the capacity to transport large volumes of goods to both domestic and overseas destinations.

Along with the second automobile assembly facility, Mitsubishi Motors signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the representative of the Vietnamese government under which they plan to explore the best way to promote the use of electric vehicles (EVs) in the country.

Accordingly, Mitsubishi Motors will work with the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT) to conduct a joint study of efficient EV usage as well as compile public policy programmes and incentives that could support the accelerated adoption of sustainable automotive technology.

Kozo Shiraji said, "We are very pleased to be able to work with the Vietnamese government to embrace cleaner automotive fuels. We look forward to sharing Mitsubishi Motors' pioneering expertise in electric vehicles and exploring how government policy can support the adoption of this transformative technology.”

"This important initiative demonstrates Mitsubishi Motors' strong commitment to accelerating the adoption of sustainable automotive technologies across rapidly developing markets such as Vietnam,” he added.

Vietnam is seeking ways to reduce CO2 emissions and to produce cleaner air and promote greener cities. Mitsubishi Motors is considering another joint EV study in other cities in Vietnam as a test bed for environmentally-conscious policies. Since Mitsubishi Motors first entered Vietnam, the company has been committed to the development of the domestic automobile market, and this MoU represents the latest important milestone.

In 2016, Mitsubishi Motors Vietnam (MMV) was officially renamed from Vina Star Motors (VSM), after an ownership structure change in the joint venture. The joint venture said that Mitsubishi's member companies have increased their ownership from 50 to 82 per cent.

Mitsubishi Motors Vietnam, which is the distributor of Mitsubishi Motors' vehicles in Vietnam, was established in 1994 by Mitsubishi Motors Corporation and Mitsubishi Trading Company, Malaysia's Perusahaan Otomobil Nasional Berhad, and Vietnam's Transport Investment Co-operation and Import and Export JSC, marking one of the first automobile joint ventures in this market.

The joint venture headquartered in the southern province of Binh Duong's Di An Town stated on its website that it has investment capital of over VND365.4 billion ($16.38 million) and a factory with an annual capacity of 5,000 vehicles.

GALLERY: Mitsubishi Outlander 2.4 CKD - RM155k

https://paultan.org/2018/01/24/gallery- ... kd-rm155k/

The Mitsubishi Outlander range is now completely locally-assembled and is available in two flavours, the 2.0 (RM140k) and 2.4 (RM155k). What we have here is the 2.4 CKD, which is cheaper by RM16,000 over the CBU model it replaces. As usual, the seven-seater SUV comes with a five-year/100,000 km warranty.

Under the bonnet is the same 2.4 litre naturally-aspirated four-cylinder petrol engine, producing 167 PS at 6,000 rm and 222 Nm of torque at 4,100 rpm. It's paired to the INVECS-III CVT and Mitsubishi's Multi-Select four-wheel drive system with 4WD Eco, 4WD Auto and 4WD Lock modes. Mitsubishi claims a fuel consumption figure of 12.8 km per litre.

The kit count here remains largely unchanged - LED headlights, paddle shifters, powered sunroof, electric parking brake, auto-dimming rear-view mirror, eight-way power-adjustable driver's seat and a powered tailgate remain, as per the CBU unit. Also on are fog lights (halogen), LED combination tail lights, keyless entry, push-button start, auto lights and wipers and dual-zone auto climate control.

The 2.4 can be differentiated visually by the new 18-inch eight-spoke two-tone alloy design (the previous design is available on the 2.0) and a tailgate spoiler. New to it is the 2-DIN head unit (shared with the 2.0) with a seven-inch touchscreen, supporting Apple CarPlay and Air Gesture Control as well. A 360-degree surround-view monitor has also been added for good measure.

For colours, the 2.4 can be had in the same exact palette as the 2.0, beginning with the Ruby Black (available only on the PHEV model in other countries), Red Metallic and Solar White. The Grey Metallic paint option has been dropped from the list. You can read our review of the CBU model here, and browse the full specifications and equipment as well as get the best deals on a new car on CarBase.my.
